Datuk Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor has two daughters named Sophea Isabella and Sophea Natasha. He was so excited when her wife announce about her pregnancy. He cried when his first baby was born. This is because “It’s a different experience from going into space, but it is just as great “said Datuk SMS. At first, he needs to take a time to bonding with his daughters. Even though he was busy with his career but he still spend time with his lovely wife and daughters. He and his wife were so grateful for the opportunity to raise their child together. He wanted his daughters to become Malaysia's first woman astronaut.

Experiences during in space. .

Datuk sheikh muzaphar shukor spent 10 days aboard the International Space Station.  He’s the first Muslim to have observed Ramadan in space as well as celebrate Eid out of the earth’s atmosphere. Islamic National Fatwa Council has come out with guidebook for Muslims in space. So he know how to pray in a low-gravity environment, how to determine prayer times and many more. During all his time in space, he had conducted a series of scientific experiments in the space station such as, the characteristics and growth of liver cancer and leukaemia cells. During his time in space he also heard the azaan. He was so lucky to be selected as an astronaut. That was new and amazing experiences for him.

Preparation before become an astronaut. .

Datuk Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor joined the astronaut programme under agreement with Russia. The most important to become an astronaut, he needs to prepare physically, mentally and psychologically. He need to prepare for a test. Datuk Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor had signed a contract that he could not get married during the training programme held. This is because to ensure he gives full concentration to the programme and he need to remain focused. Before launched into space, he was completing initial training at Star City in Russia. Since he was a kid, he likes to bought and read many books about space. He loves everything about space.

Career before and after became an astronaut. .

Before became an astronaut, he worked as an orthopaedic surgeon and a medical officer at the National University of Malaysia. Before worked as an orthopaedic surgeon, he was a staff at Hospital Selayang almost two years. Besides, he worked at Hospital Seremban in 1998 before move to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital in 1999. He was the first Malaysian astronaut after announced by Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi which is the fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia. He often goes to many schools and universities throughout our country to give motivation talks to the students. He also a part-time model for magazines and commercial advertisements.

His full name is Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al Masrie bin Sheikh Mustapha. He was born on July, 27 1972 in Kuala Lumpur. He has 5 siblings. His parent named Datuk Sheikh Mustapha Sheikh Abdul Shukor dan Datin Zuraida Datuk Sheikh Ahmad. He attended primary school at St Paul’s in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. Then he continued his studies in Maktab Rendah Sains, Muar Johor since 1985 until 1989. After finished his high school, he pursue a Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery at Manipal’s Kasturba India Medical College. He had married with Datin Dr Halina bt Mohd Yunos. His wife is a doctor in Selayang Hospital. Their married had been blessed with two daughters.
